After leaving Fattoria Castellina, we drove straight to Venice. We stayed just outside of Venice, in Mestre. I loved our little hotel; the lobby was pretty cool and there was a bus into Venice just steps away.
As soon as we got off of the bus, we walked over to a bridge to get to the other side of the canal. Venice looked exactly like I had imagined. Bellissimo! We weren’t in Venice long, just an afternoon into the early evening but it was the perfect amount of time for us to walk around, take a gondola ride, see the giant hands art installation (“Support,” created by artist Lorenzo Quinn), have dinner and eventually arrive at Piazza San Marco (St. Mark’s Square).
Oh, and someone also did a little shopping:
All that walking around tired of the kids; look at these sleepy faces. Back to the hotel for some well-deserved sleep.
